This splendid two week voyage hugs the West Greenland coastline between Kangerlussuaq and Ilulissat. A longer version of the Disko Bay voyage, sail beyond and not only observe breathtaking views from onboard ship but go ashore to visit places of historical and natural interest and even walk on the Greenland icecap.

Disko Bay is probably the most popular destination for visitors to Greenland. Although famed for its awesome scenery, in particular the enormous icebergs calved from the Jakobshavn glacier, there is more to this region that should not be missed.

The island groups of Hunde Ejland and Kronprinsens Ejland, in the mouth of Disko Bay, are surrounded by nutrient rich waters which attract both sea birds and whales, excellent news for wildlife enthusiasts. Hunde Eijland is also the location of several 11th century dwellings from the Thule period as well as graves from 18th century whalers. Cape York is another destination on this voyage. In 1818, Royal Navy ships sailing under John Ross arrived here, providing the first meeting of Inuit and White Man. Today the small settlements on the eastern side of the Cape are deserted, though the mountains behind the shore are still home to thousands of Little Auks. In fact during this trip, many bird colonies will be observed providing some excellent and varied photo opportunities.
